The Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.  
  
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.  

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. 

Your Opportunity 

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Project team. Your responsibilities in this role will include:

• Managing the effective set-up, delivery and completion of the project
• Contributing to a culture of 'Safety underpins everything we do
• Reviewing design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analysis and quality
• Ensuring the project is adequately resourced to deliver project requirements within the program and contractual agreements
• Monitoring KPIs and productivity analysis against program and budget

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Experience as a Project Engineer on a large-scale project and proven experience in leading a safety culture
• Strong attitude and awareness of Safety
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent planning and organising skills; and negotiation and influencing skills
• A problem solver and strategic thinker
