TasWater’s Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is responsible for delivering TasWaters ,ajor infrastructure project. These extensive, interesting, and varied works form part of TasWater’s $1.1 billion, capital works program that is being rolled out across the state of Tasmania.
The position of Commercial Manager sits with CPB Contractors who are in partnership with TasWater, UGL and WSP to build and enhance TasWater's capability in a range of operational and strategic areas such as safety, project controls, estimating and program management. This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager based in Hobart to promote, encourage and assist senior management and project teams in implementing effective commercial (contractual and financial) practices.
Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial and contract administration gained on construction, engineering or associated projects with extensive experience in commercial management role.
They will also hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines or Post graduate qualifications e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Quantity Surveying, or Law.
A general overview of the role includes;
- Ensuring project managers, contract administrators and all relevant project staff understand and comply with commercial requirements in contracts with customers and major/high risk subcontracts
- Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
- Lead identification and quantification of Head Contract scope changes and all subsequent negotiations with the Client
- People management: Establish and develop a high performance team.
