About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.
The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
About the Opportunity
To support the delivery of the North East Link project, we are looking for an experienced Permit Coordinator to join the team. Reporting to the Permit Manager, the role will be responsible for effectively managing the permit-to-work procedure and ensuring compliance across the project.
Please note - This role is for a 6-month term, either on a fixed term contract or day rate.
This role will be accountable for:
- Completing and maintaining permit workflows in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensuring the Permit to Work procedure meets the relevant safety KPI’s in accordance with project objectives
- Coordinating with engineers, and project managers to coordinate the preparation and submission of permits
- Receiving and processing permit applications
- Receiving all supporting permit documentation from permit requestors applications including required drawings, information and Asset owners work Authorisations/Permits
- Conduct site walks with the requesting engineer and the work Supervisor prior to issuing permits
- Maintaining the Permit register and Records management
- Attend the zone coordination meeting to discuss and manage SIMOPS issues
- Preparing information required for monthly reports on building and construction activities.
Our minimum requirements for this role:
- Must have Permit Issuer MSMWHS217, MSMWHS201, MSMPER300
- A proficient level of knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office Systems.
- Previous experience in same role at least 4 years
- Ideally, previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor on a construction or mining, oil or gas project.
- A team player with a strong work ethic.
- The ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision.
- A detail-oriented person with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- The ability to identify issues or problems and develop solutions to resolve them.
- Excellent attitude and awareness of Safety
