The Suburban Connect consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, ACCIONA and Ghella, have been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the first major tunnelling package on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project.

The package includes construction of a 16-kilometre section of the project’s twin tunnels, including tunnelling between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.

About the Opportunity:

Join our Planning team as we deliver a city shaping project – we’re building the infrastructure that will enable a more sustainable way to live, move and work in Melbourne. Our project is delivering tunnels constructed with 100% renewable electricity.

As our project progresses and grows we’re looking for a Senior level candidate to lead, develop & direct the Planning function for an the Tunnels area of the Project.

As the Senior Planner you will:

  • Provide planning expertise and developing knowledge to coordinate Time, Performance, Cost, Risk & Change management systems, procedures & processes.
  • Actively look for & lead continuous improvement initiatives in Controls and Planning practises & technologies.
  • Maintain standards and processes for the assessment and approval of programs and elevate any identified risks and issues with subcontractors to the Business & Systems Manager and/or Construction manager as appropriate
  • Support the Planning Manager through the provision of progress reports for presentation to the Project Management Team.
  • Ensure compliance with the project’s policies, objectives and statutory requirements. i.e., Project Controls Plan, Basis of Program
  • Record & analyse KPI’s and recommend areas of improvement to the C&P team

Desirable experience and qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated 3 to 7 years project delivery experience in infrastructure or building
  • 4+ years’ experience in Tender, delivery and strategic planning
  • Proven competency with current industry standard planning software including Primavera P6 (or other leading Enterprise CPM software), OPRA, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, Synchro, Navisworks, SketchUp, TILOS, Chainlink
  • Relevant Engineering degree
