The Project:

The upgrade of the Bruce Highway between Cooroy to Curra is a priority road project and is being progressed as part of the national highway network. It will provide a bypass east of Gympie and improve safety while reducing congestion.  

CPB Contractors will be delivering 18 kilometres of the new highway, realignments to local roads, 19 bridges, and a new interchange at Curra. Work on the project commenced mid-2021 and is scheduled to be completed in 2024. 

Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Project Engineer, this role sits within the project team.  You will be responsible for providing on-site engineering support to assist in the achievements of the required objectives of the project.

Based in Gympie Queensland this is a great time to join CPB and this new exciting project and gain exposure working on a Tier 1 project.

As a Site Engineer, you will be accountable for:

  • Monitoring key construction requirements to ensure they are achieved in line with agreed specifications.
  • Managing work conducted on-site by subcontractors’ and suppliers.
  • Implement prompt and safe corrective action on-site if required.
  • Maintaining all relevant project document control and records.
  • Be able to move across different disciplines when needed and as the project moves to different phases

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Recognised degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction.
  • Previous Site Engineering experience – Must have TMR / Road’s experience across either Pavements, Drainage, Earthworks or Structure disciplines, ideally Earthworks initially needed. 
  • Site-based experience with TMR/Roads projects, earthworks, heavy civil, concrete, culverts, drainage
  • Experience working with subcontractors. 
  • Able to work in Gympie Monday to Friday, support provided. 
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to comply with the scope of works and technical criteria.
