About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Planning & Controls Manager to join our QLD & PNG business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure projects are designed and planned to maximise efficiency and minimise construction cost.
  • Lead a professional and effective planning team to high levels of performance in establishing and managing the project planning systems.
  • Ensure project schedules are kept up to date with actual as-built data.
  • Liaise closely with construction teams to gain detailed understanding of construction operations.
  • Actively manage the needs of the proposed construction team and Tender Team to ensure the delivery of budget.
  • Consistently review the planning processes and procedures on a regular basis in line with business requirements.
  • Undertake an independent audit of live projects to ensure procedures are being adhered to and that the high level project objectives are realistic.
  • Assist the Senior Leadership team to review impacts, test scenarios, scheduling analysis & propose solutions to competing programme demands.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role managing complex, high value projects within the rail and civil construction industry (Tier 1 or Tier 2)
  • Strong systems focus and background in planning with experience in Primavera software.
  • Able to lead and manage the collaborative development and management of complex programmes. 
  • Experience in 4D planning, BIM, Critical Path Methodology, Design Planning, Scheduled Risk Analysis and Earned Value Management with the ability to input to and coordinate associated processes.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills and demonstrated experience leading team.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
