About North East Link

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

Join us as a Senior Contracts Administrator and play a vital role in shaping the success of our organization through expert contract management and strategic partnership building. You will effectively manage the administration of all subcontractor and supplier contracts within prescribed cost limits and contribute to ensuring financial and operational commitments are met or exceeded.

This role will be accountable for (but not limited to):

  • Manage commercial and legal aspects of contracts including negotiation of contracts. 
  • Liaise with the Commercial team on contract and project risk management. 
  • Generate and analyse reports as a source of guidance and support for the Commercial team and Senior Leaders.  
  • Managing subcontractor claims alongside relevant Spark policies and subcontractor agreements.  
  • Negotiate contract terms, conditions and pricing and follow up to ensure execution according to the negotiated terms 
  • Prepare contracts for sales and purchases 
  • Create and manage a contracts strategy 
  • Create standardised language for new contracts 
  • Assess subcontractor claims and invoices and eliminate variations in accordance with the relevant subcontract agreement.  
  • Generate reports on the current status of existing agreements 
  • Analyse and report on specific risks associated with contracts 

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • Other relevant tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar) 
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in similar role
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills 
  • Effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build a high performing team that delivers excellence 
  • Detailed knowledge and demonstrated high level experience in project management, planning, budgeting, and cost control
