The Project

The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project.  The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.

With work scheduled to commence in late 2021, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah

The Opportunity

The M6 Project is looking for an enthusiastic communications or public relations graduate to join our project team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Community & Stakeholder Engagement team to prepare and deliver notifications, newsletters and presentations
  • Coordinating communications on emerging issues, including providing support to senior managers
  • Liaising with project staff to address community related issues
  • Organising and attending meetings with key stakeholders and property owners
  • Coordinating events, site tours, inspections etc.

 

About You

 To be successful you will ideally have the following experience and capabilities:

  • Relevant degree or diploma e.g. Public relations, Customer Service, Journalism, Communications, Media or similar tertiary qualification or experience in community relations, public relations, communication, customer service or similar
  • Good communication skills including dealing with members of the public regarding a range of  issues
  • Good writing skills with the ability to prepare a wide variety of communication materials for internal and external audiences
  • Developed organisation skills
  • Effective time management
  • Problem solving and conflict management abilities
  • Team player with positive, confident approach to working with people
  • Construction Industry Induction Card
