What can our construction projects build for you?

The Project

CPB Contractors has been selected by Ōtākaro Ltd to deliver the Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre (formerly the Metro Sports Facility). This will be the largest aquatic and indoor recreation and community venue in New Zealand. The three-building facility will cater to local and international events, with construction including a 10-lane competition pool with seating for 1,000 spectators, swim leisure area, nine indoor netball and basketball courts and a show court with retractable seating for 2,500 spectators. This project continues CPB Contractors’ long track record of delivering important infrastructure in New Zealand and is scheduled to be completed towards the end of 2022.

Your Opportunity

As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for achieving optimum production and cost outcomes by managing the day-to-day running of projects. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your previous success, learnings and knowledge, gained from a successful engineering career whilst achieving the best possible outcomes in a safe environment.

Minimum requirements for this role include:

  • 3+years’ experience working on large commercial construction projects ideally with Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractors
  • The ability to develop work packs and associated documentation to ensure successful management of onsite construction works
  • Experience in the development of SHEQ process and procedures and managing others to promote a safe work environment at all times.
  • Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience contributing to a team within commercial construction to deliver works up to $5M
  • The ability to engage with sub-contractors, and to communicate with people at all levels to ensure productivity, compliance and drive results.

As the successful candidate you will need to be a self-starter who is highly motivated, well organized and committed to the highest possible work standards. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors.
