The Senior Internal Auditor will report directly to the Group Executive General Manager Internal Audit. You will be responsible for managing a variety of internal audit services including compliance audits, business process reviews and forensic investigations.

This role will suit a highly motivated and experienced Auditor with strong communication skills.

Key responsibilities for the role include

Provide day to day support of Group Internal Audit (GIA) in conducting internal audits including compliance audits, business process reviews and forensic investigations across the Operating Companies of CIMIC Group by:

  • Assisting in the development of internal audit scopes;
  • Obtaining, analysing and evaluating process documentation, reports, data, flowcharts, and other supporting documents;
  • Assessing the design and testing the operation of controls;
  • Drafting internal audit reports including recommendations to improve business processes and controls;
  • Conducting follow up audits to monitor management’s progress on agreed actions; and
  • Performing other audit related projects based on management request.

This role will suit a highly motivated and experienced Auditor with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience & Skills required

  • 3-4 years or more Australian audit experience (ideally with a Big 4 background) and or within large corporate environment;
  • Ability to work autonomously, proactively and as part of a team;
  • Adept communication, presentation, interview and listening skills;
  • A track record of timely delivery of required outputs that meet stakeholder expectations;
  • Demonstrated successful delivery of audit services in complex environments;
  • Ability to think laterally and analytically, applying innovation to internal audit challenges;
  • Thorough knowledge of internal audit methodologies or equivalent relevant industry or technical expertise; and
  • Relevant academic qualifications and professional memberships.
