About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Supervisor with experience in large scale precast or manufacturing projects to join our team in Regional Northern Victoria. Ideally, you will have experience in Prestress, General Precast, Substructure or Matchcast. The main aim of this role will be to coordinate the on-site team to deliver relevant scopes of work in accordance with project plans and specifications to achieve effective performance in accordance with detailed short-term programs and schedules within the designated time and budget as well as implement site safety, quality and environment control and identify and assess potential risks.

Typical Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes
  • Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management
  • Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term manufacturing programs and plan daily/weekly production work
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed
  • Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the Superintendent or Project Manager
  • Ensure compliance of commercial and financial costs including budgets and the implications of directions within your authority limits
  • Read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementing of final designs
  • Ensure contractual mechanisms of subcontractors
  • Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture
  • Select, train and develop leading hands and ensure the observance of safety, other work standards and fair and reasonable application of industrial agreements
  • Maintain effective consultation with various workers’ representatives and committees on industrial and safety subjects handling issues as they arise and referring major issues to the Project Manager
  • Perform all duties in accordance with relevant policies, processes, systems and procedures

What you'll need to succeed

  • 2-5 years previous manufacturing experience in a similar role , preferably in a precast or structural environment.
  • Substantial industry experience in trade and/or Manufacturing
  • Technical competency and understanding of precast supervision
  • Skill in review of design documents, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans
  • Leading hand experience
  • People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
  • Trade qualifications (preferred)
