We are currently seeking a Quality Coordinator to join our team based in Brisbane. The role will involve supporting the Quality Manager to establish, implement and continually improve the Sedgman Management System and ensure effective systems are in place to monitor non-conformances, report on key Quality metrics, and audit the implementation of the SMS.

What does this role involve?
Confirming the Sedgman Management System complies with the applicable elements of the Standards, policies, procedures and risk management processes, and is suitable and effective by providing independent, objective audits. This role will suit someone who has exposure to engineering, mining, heavy industry or construction.

You may be required to undertake regular travel to all Sedgman sites and extended time on site at initial set up stage at new sites or projects.

•Assist in the maintenance of Sedgman Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS18001 and AS/NZS 4801 / ISO 45001.
•In collaboration with Quality Manager / Engineering Manager and other stakeholders, monitor non-conformances including costs and root causes and develop improvement programs to reduce recurrence and costs
•Assist Quality Manager/Site Manager with the implementation of quality planning at the commencement of a site, by reviewing all client Specifications to ensure all QA/QC project deliverables required under the contract are captured and processes are in place to ensure they are achieved
•Conduct internal audits of BU’s, offices, and sites against the Management System requirements
•Communicate with auditees to obtain/clarify information, present findings to auditees and prepare audit reports
•Deliver audit findings and recommendations by providing constructive, candid feedback, and where required, coaching and guidance to internal stakeholders
•Maintain and improve auditing procedures and tools for effective monitoring of Management System implementation in offices, BU’s, projects, and operations sites
•In collaboration with Quality Manager and other stakeholders, monitor product non-conformances including costs and root causes and develop improvement programs to reduce recurrence and costs

What are we looking for in our future team member?
•Knowledge in Management Systems internal auditing and providing coaching and guidance to auditees in Improvement Opportunities
•Excellent analytical skills and ability to extract key data from non conformance reports
•Be a proactive, reliable, self-motivated team player, who produces work of a high standard
•Excellent time management and organisational skills with an ability to handle busy workload with competing priorities. Strong planning, problem solving and decision-making skills
•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
•5-7 years’ Mining/Coal Processing/Crushing/Heavy Industry experience, with a strong focus on development and implementation of Management Systems.
•Diploma in Quality or Project Management and a Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor
•Qualifications as a Lead Auditor with a minimum 5 years’ experience
•Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, draw actionable conclusions and translate this into operational recommendations.
