About the role

At UGL, we believe a company’s ability to move with market changes and new technologies comes down to the strength of its teams. At present, we have an opening for a Financial Accountant based out of our corporate head office in North Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial accounting support across the broader business. The role assists providing financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. It is an integral position in the application of financial controls and in providing quality information to assist in meeting business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting the finance function in the day to day accounting responsibilities.
  • Provide financial accounting support for the broader business, through the performance of reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, HFM reporting, balance sheet analysis and etc.
  • Assist preparation of monthly and yearly close and reporting.
  • Review monthly reconciliations and provide updates to senior accountant.
  • Be part of process improvement team to review, report & update the current processes to improve efficiency.
  • Assist senior financial accountant on ad-hoc tasks.
  • Assist internal & external audit requirements.

To be successful in this role you will need

  • 10+ years of financial accounting experience, preferably with a large corporate.
  • Proven ability to problem solve, adapt to change and liaise with all levels of a business
  • Good communication skills are essential 
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skill
  • Experience in SAP is favourable
