As our next Asset Specialist - Long Term Planning reporting to the Asset Lead – Long Term Planning, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

About the role

You will plan and schedule long-term maintenance for all Australia Pacific mobile plant and equipment in line with the Thiess asset planning processes and maintenance management system.

This role is based in Brisbane at our head office but will require some travel to site.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the JDE maintenance system is utilised effectively on the sites to ensure transparency across the business and records are maintained accurately.
  • Carry out strategy reviews where required to ensure that all Thiess assets are maintained in accordance to OEM requirements and historical records within Thiess.
  • Communicate detailed maintenance plans and long-term component forecasts to site, OEM’s and other key suppliers.
  • Assist in the development of site personnel in planning systems and process.
  • Liaise with Asset Lead – Long Term Planning to monitor, review and update Fleet Reliability processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of maintenance work through enhanced planning practices and new technologies.
  • Identify project-based opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership in your own behaviour and your interactions with others.

About you

  • A trade qualification/ engineering degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in maintenance operations and planning activities with large mining equipment.
  • Supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Competence in the use of computerised maintenance management systems (e.g. JDE).
  • Knowledge of contract management, including subcontractors.
  • Highly effective communication skills with the ability to negotiate with stakeholders and influence outcomes.
